Throughout Project Citizen, I have learned about the power of each citizen. It may feel like the government is extremely far away, but contacting public officials has never been so simple with modern technology. The opinions of politicians are organic - they are not set in stone. They change as the opinions of their constituents change. Each person has a substantial voice which can have potent effects. Overall, I am happy with the final result of our project and I feel thoroughly informed concerning the issue. From the research of the project, being informed and letting government officials know your stance is one of the most important parts of the process because they often want to know the stances of their constituents. Their duty as elected officials is to represent the views of their constituents, which they can only do if we inform them.
